| In
many ways, South Miami Beach Florida is a tropical Manhattan
with deco-styled Miami Beach hotels instead of skyscrapers.
The main streets
in South Beach are Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue and Washington
Avenue. Along Ocean Drive which sits just a few yards away from
the beach, are cafes, restaurants, hotels and round the clock
entertainment. On weekend evenings, Ocean Drive is packed with
partygoers cruising the pulsating Latin rhythm-filled air in
search of the sensuous.
Club hopping is an art form here and the non-stop party atmosphere
seems more suited to Rio de Janeiro than anywhere else in the
U.S. Along Collins Avenue, also known as A1A, sit rows and rows
of high-fashion shops. Here you will find Armani, Jones of New
York, Versace, and Liz Clairborne. Washington Avenue is the
heart of the South Miami Beach nightclub and afterhours scene.
In fact, The Diner, at the corner of 11th St.and Washington
Ave, was used in the popular MTV series The Real World and
Espaniola Way was the back drop for much of Miami Vice.
